Mrs. Phebe Vinson died at the residence of her son, Henry, in Langell Valley, Sunday afternoon, July 27th, of liver complaint, aged 77 years, 4 months and 9 days. She was born in Perry County, Kentucky, March 18, 1825. Married Elias Vinson in Platt County, Mo., May 10, 1846, and with her husband and family, crossed the plains in 1865, and came to the Willamette valley and afterward moved to Jackson county. In 1871, she and her husband and family moved to Klamath County. She was the first white woman settler in Langell Valley. She was the mother of seven children, all of whom are dead except Henry and David Vinson, who reside in Langell Valley.
