Nathaniel Wolery, January 29, 1913, at his home in Eagle Point. He was born November 10, 1837, at Wilmington, O., and married Rachel Gilfin, September 7, 1865. This union was born five children. Three survive him - Alphus Wolery, who resides at Lyons, Mont., Mrs. Grant Matthews, Eagle Point, and Mrs. Harry Copinger, Coberg, Mont.; also an adopted daughter, Mrs. William McConnell, Swan River, Canada. Besides these, he is survived by his aged wife, seven grandchildren and a host of friends. He enlisted as a soldier in the Civil War September 17, 1861, and was mustered out on October 17, 1864. The funeral sermon was preached by Rev. Simmons and the body was laid to rest in the Central Point cemetery by the old comrades. To this union was born five children, three girls and two boys, one son and two daughters still survive him, Alkens Wolery who lives at Loyd, Montana, Mrs. Grant Mathews of Eagle Point and Mrs. Harry Copenger of Coburg, Mont., besides these he is survived by his aged wife, seven grandchildren and a large circle of friends. He enlisted as a soldier Sept. 17, 1861, and was mustered out Oct. 7, 1864, 40th Ohio Vol. Infect., Co. B. He was wounded Sept. 18, 1863, at Rosville, Georgia, was in the hospital at Marshall's Run eleven months. He died Jan. 29, 1913, at his home in Eagle Point, Oregon, aged 75 years, two months and nineteen days. He also had an adopted daughter, Mrs. James Cohusell of Seven Rivers, Canada. The remains were interred in the Central Point cemetery, the religious services being conducted in the Baptist church by the pastor, Rev. L. L. Simmons, and the interment was conducted by the G. A. R. corps. There was a very large attendance at the funeral, the school being dismissed so that the children could attend in a body.
