Medford (Oregon) Mail, Friday, 12 Oct 1900, City Happenings, p. 7, c. 6 
Married–Pottenger-Cox. It was on Sunday evening, October 7th, at the pleasant 
home of the bride’s father, Mr. Rufus Cox, in this city, that Rev. W. B. 
Moore, pastor of the M. E. Church, said the binding and solemn words which 
united the heart and hand of Mr. T. E. Pottenger and Miss Laura Cox.
The wedding was a very quiet affair, there being only relatives present. After 
the ceremony a splendid dinner was served, and after this had been partaken of 
and the many hearty congratulations had been said, the happy couple repaired 
to the groom’s beautiful and very cozy home, on South H street, where they 
will reside.
The groom is one of Medford’s most honorable and upright business men with 
friends every where who are right now extending their most sincere 
congratulations–all of which are deserved. The bride is the daughter of our 
esteemed and well-to-do townsman, Mr. Rufus Cox. She is a young lady of 
refinement and culture and her friends are as numerous as are her 
acquaintances. That she will preside with becoming dignity over the home in 
which she has been enstalled [sic] by her happy and fortunate husband is not 
questioned. The Mail’s congratulations are extended in unstinted measure and 
its best wish is that their lives may always be happy and that the sunshine of 
blissful union may never be clouded.
