At the residence of Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Young, 417 Jay street, on Saturday evening, June 18, at 8 o'clock occurred the marriage of their sister, Martha Geneva Young to Mr. Fern W. Thomas, the Rev. Lawrence officiating. Lohengrin's Wedding March was played by Miss Alice Dean of Long Island, Kansas. Miss Dean is a childhood friend of the bride. The Young residence was tastefully decorated with garden and woodland flowers. The bride was charming in a gown of sheer white organdie and white picture hat. She carried a shower bouquet of pink and white sweet peas. The bride is the daughter of Charles F. Young of Medford. Mr. Thomas is the son of G. E. Thomas of Prospect, Oregon. After a brief motor trip to the coast Mr. and Mrs. Thomas will be at home at 1017 West Ninth street, Medford, Oregon. TENGWALD-ALLEXAN. Carl Y. Tengwald surprised his friends very agreeably last Monday evening when he returned from San Francisco with his bride, who was formerly Miss Edna N. Allexan of Chicago, Ill. The marriage was solemnized in the St. Paul's Episcopal church in Oakland at high noon Saturday, June 18, and was the culmination of a war romance which began when Mr. Tengwald was in the service as a lieutenant in the ordinance department, Miss Allexan at that being his private secretary. The young couple will spend the summer at Crater Lake, Mr. Tengwald having recently been appointed manager of that famous resort, and will be at home to their friends after Oct. 1st in Medford. CARAS-STEINMETZ. At the home of the officiating minister, J. Randolph Sasnett, Eugene Albert Caras and Miss Anna Steinmetz of Murphy, Ore., were married, Sunday, June 12th. Mr. Caras is a young business man and Miss Steinmetz was a teacher in the Murphy school and prominent in social circles of that place. After a short honeymoon they expect to make their home in Medford.
