C. Rollins New Year’s evening, when Miss Marian Palmer became the wife of L. Bryant Pierce of this city. The happy event was solemnized at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. B. J. Palmer, on South Central avenue, at 8 o’clock last evening. Both of the contracting parties are well known in this community. The bride is a recent graduate of the San Jose Normal school and now teaching at Trail, and the groom a leading figure in the younger set of Medford’s stirring young men, who is about to enlist in his country’s service. About thirty guests were present, when Mr. Brooks began “O Promise Me,” rendering this time-honored bridal strain in his best baritone, with Miss Alice Palmer, sister of the bride, at the piano. The beautiful ring ceremony was read under a lavish bower of palas and potted plants, while Miss Eva Osborne, a recent graduate of the San Jose school, and Leon Lawton acted as bridesmaid and best man. Following choice refreshments and the congratulations and hearty good wishes of all present, the young people left for a few days’ trip. The large circle of friends of these two representatives of two prominent families of the city extend a most hearty New Year’s greetings and bid them Godspeed. The latest war bride of this community begins the new year with the best wishes of all who know her.
