It was a quiet little event, indulged in by quiet little people, which was celebrated at the residence of Rev. W. B. Moore on Sunday evening, December 9th, at which time and place Mr. Scott Davis and Miss Ida Weaver were joined in the holy bonds of wedlock by Rev. Moore. The event was a surprise to many of their friends, who, while they had figured that Cupid’s arrow would go whizzing into that locality one of these days, couldn’t just guess the date, but the telltale license told the event a few hours in advance of its actual taking place. But this is neither here nor there–they are married and a nicer little couple was never “jined” by those same bonds in all Southern Oregon. After the ceremony, which was witnessed only by Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Hicks, particular friends of the young couple, the party adjourned to the home of the bride’s parents, in West Medford, where they will live, for a time at least. The groom is the youngest son of Townsman A. A. Davis. He is a splendid gentleman, an honorable, upright citizen and possesses a business capacity that will pave for him a pathway into a profitable business undertaking of some sort. He is at present bookkeeper for the A. A. Davis & Co. Milling Company of this city. The bride is the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Weaver. For three and a half years she has been an able and faithful employe of The Mail office, and during all this time she has proven herself proficient in nearly every branch of office work. She is a refined and most excellent young lady, possessing a genial disposition and will prove herself a worthy helpmate to her most fortunate husband, and will preside with becoming dignity over the best home her husband may provide her with. The Mail’s best wish is that success in a business way may always be found within their easy reach, and that peace and happiness may always be enjoyed at their hearthstone and beneath their rooftree.
