Friday, 4 Aug 1944, p. 3   J. E. Swinden Dies At General Hospital  
J. E. Swinden, 88, Murphy, died at the Josephine General hospital
Friday at 11:30 a.m. Funeral arrangements are under the direction
of the Hull and Hull funeral home.

SWINDEN, John Edwin, Grant's Pass (Oregon) Daily Courier,
Saturday, 5 Aug 1944, p. 3 - Funeral services for John E. Swinden
of Murphy, who died at the Josephine General hospital on Friday at
the age of 82, will be held at the graveside at the Missouri Flat
cemetery on Monday, 11 a.m., the Rev. R. W. Lamkin officiating.

Born at Ellensburg, Ill., Mr. Swinden had lived in the Murphy
community for the past 50 years at the time of his death.

He is survived by his widow, Eliza, and by a number of nieces and
nephews in Southern Oregon.
