The list includes names of soldiers who died during wartime (including some who were killed in accidents or died from illness). Also shown are names reportedly omitted from the monument, and the name of one Klamath Falls man who died shortly after a cease fire was called in the Persian Gulf War. The stone monument was erected in 1954, and replaced a wooden monument that stood at the same site from 1943 to 1953. The monument is made of native stone taken from a quarry near Montague, Calif.
