William Hamilton

Junction City, Or., Oct. 3

William Hamilton, an esteemed pioneer, died at his home here yesterday. Born 
in Jefferson county, Indiana, he crossed the plains in 1851. Going to the 
mines in southern Oregon, he became a scout during the Indian wars and served 
with credit. He settled in Lane County in 1865. He was unmarried.
