Colfax Newspaper  1886
"Robertson - In Colfax, April 10, 1886, Andrew Jackson Robertson, aged 52 
years.
Deceased was born in the State of Alabama.  He moved from thence to California 
in 1853, where he was united in marriage with Miss Amantha A Balkan, by who he 
had twelve children, three of whom preceded him to the spirit land.  Nine 
children, with the widow are left to mourn his sudden and untimely death, but 
thank God, they mourn not as those who have no hope, as he was fully conscious 
that he was going and was willing to go; only expressing a desire that he 
might live for the glory of Him who saved him by His grace.  He was an active 
member of the Second Advent CHurch at the time of his death.  The large number 
that attended his funeral on Sunday attested the respect in which he was held 
by the community.  The services were conducted by Rev.J.Cairns, of the Baptist 
church.  "Be ye also ready." The text used was Thes.4:14;read verses 13-18 
inclusive."


Additional Comments:
NOTE: This family lived in Lane county at least 20 years.  His wife name 
spelled wrong in the obit.  (Samantha "anna" Baucom) From Lane county they 
moved to Colfax WA where he died 1886.  Samanatha went on to Marry Joseph W 
Turner.
