Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 4, in the Halsey Methodist church, at 2:00 p.m., Rev. O. L. Covault officiating. Interment in Alford cemetery, Fisher funeral home in charge. Besides his widow he is survived by five children and two sisters. Obituary next week. PENCE, Edward, Halsey (Oregon) Review, Thursday, 11 March 1948, p. 1 Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Halsey Methodist church for Edward Pence, 64, who died March 4 at the Sacred Heart hospital in Eugene after a short illness. Rev. Orville Covault officiated and burial was in the Alford cemetery, the Fisher funeral home in charge. Mr. Pence was born May 19, 1883 in Colfax, Iowa, and lived there until 1910. He spent several years in North Dakota and lived in South Dakota until 1936, when the family moved to the Halsey vicinity. He was married March 12, 1905 at Perry, Iowa to Maude Kenyon, who survives, as do the following children, Carl E. Pence, Corvallis; Harry O. Pence, Halsey; William G. Pence, Brownsville; Floyd R. Pence, Turner; and Hazel Hemeyer, Stickney, S. Dak., and two sisters, Mrs. Walter Emmert and Mrs. Olive Brown, both of Adel, Iowa.
