Mrs. J. R. Blackaby

The sad intelligence reached this city Thursday of the death of Mrs. J. R. 
Blackaby, of Jordan Valley, which occurred at Baker City on that day.  Mrs. 
Blackaby has been a sufferer for some time, being afflicted with cancer of the 
stomach, and notwithstanding the best medical attendance, showed no signs of 
improvement.  About three months ago Mr. Blackaby took his wife to Baker City 
where the best of care was afforded the invalid, but of no avail, and she 
passed peacefully away.  Six children, the eldest 12 years of age, areleft 
without a mother’s care.  

The funeral will take place Saturday at Jordan Valley.  Rev. W. J. Harvey of 
this city will officiate at the services.
