Cameron VALE-Orval E. Cameron, 68, died Sept. 22, 1988, at his home in rural Vale, Ore. Graveside services will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday at Terrace Lawn Memorial Park in Boise, Idaho, Rev. Aura Lee Jabs, pastor of Vale’s First United Methodist Church officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Vale’s Lienkaemper Chapel. Mr. Cameron was born May 30, 1920, in Joplin, Missouri, the son of Charles B. and Ruby Chase Cameron. He was raised and educated in the Murtaugh, Idaho, area. He entered the Army Air Corps Oct. 22, 1941, serving in the Alaska Theater at Hammer Field, Calif. He married Thelma grace Rhoades May 4, 1944, in Murtaugh. He was discharged on Sept. 26, 1956. They moved to Vale, where he began farming on the East Bench until 1965. They moved to Boise in 1965, where he was employed by Idaho First as a building engineer. He also owned and operated an apartment building and bicycle shop concurrently. He retired from Idaho First in 1982 and sold his holdings in Boise and returned to Vale in 1983, where he has resided since. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans. Survivors include his wife, Grace, of Vale; a daughter, Joyce Castleberry of Vale; his mother, Ruby Cameron, Nampa; three sisters, Mildred Perrigo, of Emmett, Lorraince Collins of Nampa, and Ina Ristau of Star; a granddaughter, Peggy Gardner of Vale; a grandson, Calvin Castleberry of Charleston, S. C.; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, one sister, and two grandsons.
