LOCAL AND PERSONAL

Word was received here a few days ago of the death of R. D. Greer at his home 
at Ontario, California, on Wednesday, January 5.  Mr. Greet was a resident of 
Ontario many years.  He was the founder of the store that is now the Malheur 
Mercantile company’s, and later was a partner of the late Holden T. Husted in 
the same business.  He was a citizen of highest worth and a man of many 
admirable qualities.  He leaves a widow and a daughter.  Mrs. Frank Davis of 
McMinnville is his step-daughter, and Conley Davis and Mrs. H. H. Williams are 
grandchildren.
