Rites Held For County Native
 
Funeral services for Mrs. Bertha E. Lockett of Vale, who died Saturday at the 
Holy Rosary hospital at the age of 45, were held at the Vale Christian church 
Wednesday.  Burial was in the Jamieson cemetery.
 
Mrs. Lockett had lived her entire life in Malheur county.  She was born in 
Jamieson, November 18, 1895.
 
Surviving relatives include her parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Kendall of 
Jamieson; four brothers, Frank of Willowcreek, Rob of Vale, Roland of Jamieson, 
and Lincoln of Jamieson; three sisters, Mrs. Sherman Smiley of Reedsport, 
Oregon; Mrs. Louvena Sharp of Tocama,Washington; and Beulah Kendall of San 
Francisco; four daughters and two sons.
