McDermott NYSSA-Services for Lawrence Charles McDermott, 84, a rural Nyssa resident, who died Wednesday in a Nyssa nursing home of natural causes will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at Lienkaemper Chapel by the Rev. Robert Hutchinson of Nyssa First Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Owyhee. He was born March 25, 1888 in Kansas and married Sylvia Jones, Oct. 19, 1909 at St. Francis, Kansas. They lived at Benkelman, Neb., until 1933 when they moved to Delta, Colo. In 1936 they moved to the Nyssa area. He was a retired farmer. Survivors in addition to his widow are four sons, Charley McDermott, Nampa, Larry McDermott, Pilot Rock, Ore., John (Jerry) McDermott, Meridian and Bud McDermott, Caldwell; six daughters, Mrs. Earl (Alla) Province, Caldwell, Mrs. Bernard (Beulah) Voss, Sunnyside, Wash., Mrs. Ralph (Ruby) Baily, Coos Bay, Ore., Mrs. Elmer, (Velma) Derrick, Williams Lake, B. C., Canada, Mrs. William (Verla) Baxter, Kennewick, Wash., and Mrs. Floyd (Nellie) Eason, Parma; 36 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Alvin McDermott and a daughter, Olive.
