SYLVIA E. McDERMOTT

NYSSA-Sylvia E. McDermott, 87, of Nyssa, died Wednesday at a Nyssa nursing 
home. Services were conducted today at 11 a.m. at the Lienkaemper Chapel in 
Nyssa. Interment was at the Owyhee Cemetery.

She was born March 11, 1891 in Kansas. She married Lawrence McDermott Oct. 17, 
1909 at St. Francis, Kan. They moved to Colorado in1933 and to the Nyssa area 
in 1936, where they farmed. 

She is survived by three son, Larry of Victor, Mont., John (Jerry) of Meridian 
and Bud of Caldwell; six daughters, Mrs. Earl (Alla) Province of Caldwell, Mrs. 
Bernard Voss of Sunnyside, Wash., Mrs. Floyd (Nellie) Eason of Parma, Mrs. 
Ralph (Ruby) Bailey of Coos Bay, Mrs. Elmer (Velma) Derrick of Williams Lalu, 
British Columbia, Canada, and Mrs. William (Verla) Baxter of Kennewick, Wash.; 
35 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
