Willis Pence, one of Malheur county's old time sheepmen, died at the Vale Hot Springs Sanatorium last Friday morning at eight o'clock from chronic heart disease. Mr. Pence for a year previous to coming to the sanitorium several months ago, had made his home with Ivan Hart at Westfall and was known throughout the county. Nothing is known of any relatives he may have had and only a few intimate friends were present at the simple funeral services. Burial was made in the Vale cemetery. Mr. Pence was a man about sixty-seven years old and came to Malheur county many years ago from the John Day Country.
