He was one of the wealthiest and probably the most eccentric character in Eastern Oregon. He was worth a quarter of a million dollars, and with every reasonable luxury at this command, a splendid home in Union, he preferred to live in his cabin on his ranch near Drewsey. Abner Robbins was born in Boston, Mass. He went to California in 1853 and followed the occupation of a miner. He came to Oregon in 1858 and engaged in mercantile, farming and stock raising business, and at the time of his death was the senior member of the firm of Daly & Robbins at Drewsey. He leaves a devoted wife, a daughter and many warm friends to mourn his demise.
