VALE-Funeral services for Grady W. Romans, 70, Vale, long-time resident of 
Malheur county, will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. from the Vale Church of Jesus Christ 
of Latter-Day Saints. The Rev. Fred Moxon of the Owyhee Community Church will 
officiate and interment will be at Valley View cemetery in Vale.

Mr. Romans died Sept. 3, 1982 at an Ontario hospital.

He was born March 31, 1912 in Paris, Tex., and moved with his family to 
Oklahoma in 1922. He married Martha Klein, Dec. 15, 1931 in Erick, Ok. and they 
moved to Oregon in 1938 where they cleared 80 acres of sagebrush from their 
farm near Vale. In 1958 the Romans bought a ranch at Westfall. They moved back 
to Vale in 1980.

Mr. Romans was a member of the Grange, the Farm Bureau, a past president of the 
Malheur County Cattlemen's Association, served on the Bureau of Land Management 
advisory board for 19 years, was Grand Marshal of the Vale Rodeo in 1980, was a 
past director of the Baker Production Credit Association where he served 12 
years, and was a 4-H leader for 15 years.

He is survived by his wife of Vale, a son Kenneth of Vale, two brothers, Robert 
of Foss, Ok., and L. T. of Enid, Ok.; three sisters, Edna Watts of Foss, Marry 
Daniels of Visalia and Gladys Crook, Los Angeles. Also surviving are five 
grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

The family will be receiving visitors from 7-9 p.m. Monday night at the 
Lienkaemper Chapel in Vale. Memorials may be made to the Pioneer Nursing Home 
in Vale.
