Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Nyssa Lienkaemper Chapel. Lloyd was a lifetime resident of Nyssa. He was born Jan. 27, 1920, to Earnest and Alice Wilson. He was the middle of three boys; Robert and Calvin were his brothers. After graduation from Nyssa High School, Lloyd attended the University of Oregon and graduated with a degree in business administration. He enlisted in the Air Force at the beginning of World War ll and served with the Eight Air Force in England. He advanced to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and received the bronze star and a purple heart. While in England he met Betty Whincup who he eventually married. They returned to Nyssa and made it their home. Lloyd worked at Amalgamated Sugar Company in the capacity of office manager until his retirement. In addition, he helped run the family business, Wilson Brothers Department Store and worked as a public accountant. Always active in the community, Lloyd served on the Nyssa Public Library board, Treasure Valley Community College board and was active in the management of St. Paul's Episcopal Church. In retirement Lloyd and his wife Betty traveled extensively to all parts of the world. His hobbies included gardening, fishing, golfing and hunting. He is survived by two children, Paul and Stephanie; his four grandchildren, Doti, Kirstie, Gus, and Lacie. Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents; both brothers; and his wife Betty.
