This is one of the older cemeteries in Marion County, but has never been used extensively and only occasionally in recent years. It is moderately tended by interested family members. Unfortunately, this cemetery was recently vandalized and many of the older stones were crumbled beyond hope of repair. Older lists of burials in this cemetery will have to be relied upon to provide information from the destroyed markers. our most recent reading was done 20 Sept 1987. This cemetery is laid out in rows, with some family lots encompassing 2 rows. Many of the family lots have a cement curb around them, some have cement covering the burials and a few have, in recent years, planted juniper bushes which now competely cover the lots including the markers. While some sexton records had been kept in years gone by, these old records Have not been located in recent years. If anyone knows there whereabouts, Earl Sandner, who is attempting to reconstruct and protect the cemetery, would appreciate getting that information. He may be reached at 503/362- 8522.
