Beacuse The Girl Will Not Have Him He Burns Her Father's Barn
West Scio,Or-Feb.13-Andrew L.Arnold,living near this city,was arrested for 
firing Alex. McDonalds barn two weeks ago,and confessed to the deed,saying he 
did so because Miss Tillie,McDonalds daughter,would not accept him as a suitor 
for her hand. Tracks in the snow,leading to the barn,first caused Arnold to be 
suspicioned. Arnold is  a man of property and has give McDonald a note seured 
for $3500 to reimburse him for the loss. The community do not attach so much 
blame to Arnold as they otherwise would, as he is regarded as being a little 
off,and many are disposed to regard his barn burning freak as that of a crazy 
man. Arnold is in the custody of Deputy Sheriff J.A.Billyeu.
