The Daily Independent March 28, 1893
The following articles of incorporation were filed today in the office of 
secretary of state; The Stuart and Thompson Co., Incorporators- Edwin C. 
Stuart, John L. Thompson,and L. Hayden Stuart. Principal place of business at 
Portland. Capital Stock, $50,000, and object the whoelase and retailing of 
books and stationery.

The Oregon Paper Box, Co. Incorporators- Otto Roenick, W.F. Browntwon and 
James Surman. Principal place of business, Portland, and capital stock, 
$10,000.

The South Umpqua Mining Co., Incorporators- D.E. Bush, A. Tyler, M. O'Neil, et 
al. Principal place of business in Canyonville distrcit on the Upper South 
Umpqua river in Dougall county and capital stock, $150,000.
