It is said that Gaddis met Miss Jones three or four years ago, while both were students at Corvallis, and ever since then he has tried to force his attentions upon the popular young lady at Brooks. Neither broad hints nor plain statements would suppresss him, but he assumed hte privelege of calling whenever he pleased, even at the home of friends where Miss Jones happened to be visiting. His conduct led to the conclusion that he was mentally unbalanced, but in order to avoid unpleasant notoriety nothing was done to compel Gaddis to cease his unwelcome atention. Gaddis' action in procuring a marriage license without the knowledge or coonsent of the lady mentioned therein, will probably precipitate radical measures which will prevent further annoyance. Miss Jones is vy popular in Salem social circles. Gaddis is but slightly known here File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/or/marion/newspapers/forcedhi21nnw.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.net/orfiles/ File size: 1.9 Kb
