The Daily Independent March 23, 1893
A little child of C.T. Pomeroy, of Woodburn, died day before yesterday.

G.A. Buchanan and Attorney Marcom of Woodburn were in the city today.

L.D.Pape, brother of W.H. Pape, superintendent of the Salem Light and Power 
Co., arrived from Marietta,Ohio this monring. mr. Pape intends making his home 
in Salem.

J.C.Flanders, an attorney from Portland, is visiting the city.

C.A.Dolph is in the city, from Portland, and is reported as having said that 
Judge Deady is seriously ill.

Geo.F. Camer, deputy sheriff from Eugene, is in the city. Mr. Cramer is after 
a couple of burglars who robbed a jewelry store in Creswell on the 16th, and a 
clothnig store in Cottage Grove on the 20th. He has no description of the men, 
and is turning his attention to the finding of the goods.
