A.L.Fenton, of Dallas, is in the city on business. W.W.Bartlett spent Sunday on his farm near Silverton. Geo.Morris and S.A.Clark took the one o'clock train for Portland. W.C.Day,of Portland, was in the city with friends over Sunday. Dr.Diven is able to be out again after a severe attack of the rheumatism. Senator T.A.Moore,of Columbia county, is in the city on business at the Capital. J.L.Fisher, of Mehama, after a week's visit with friends here left for home today. Rev.Irwin and wife, of the Chemawa Indian school, spent Sabbath in the city. Mr. Alonzo Gesner is acting as deputy county recorder during the W.S.Culver's sickness. Miss Bell Hager, went down on the Eugene express today to visit with friends in Portland. Dr.S.B.Lutcher, of Brock,Nebraska,arrived in the city, yesterday, and is visiting his son, on Liberty street. Miss Jennie M.Long returned this morning from a three weeks visit among friends in MOntana. Her return will be noted with pleasure by many friends.
