George Edwards Called Beyond
Pioneer Of Rickey Community Psses Awat After Operation
Rickey,Nov.10-This community is grief strickenover the deth of George 
Edwards,one of the oldest members of the community.While Mr.Edwrads has been 
in ill health for some time his death came as a shock to his friends.
He underwent an operation last week and seemed to be improving bu became worse 
and died Sunday night.
Mr.Edwards was born in Iowa 66 years ago and cam eto Oregon 40 years ago.For 
the past 20 years he has bene a residen to fthis place and has been actively 
interested in all affairs of the communhity.
He was one o fthe oldest members of this community,has been a member of the 
school board for several years  and was among those who worked faithfully to 
secure the new school house.With his passing the community has sustained a 
great loss.Mr.Edwards was a loving and faithful father and husband.Though in 
poor helath he has taken almost entire care of his wife who has been an 
invalid for the past two years.
He leaves besides his wife,four children,Grace Shearer of Caldwell,Idaho;Will 
Edwards,Lincoln,Polk county;Harry Edwards,La Grande and Mae Gesner,Salem;a 
brother,Henry Edwards of route three;a brother and sister in the east;23 
grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducte from Rigson and Sons chapel Tuesday at 3 
p.m. with burial in City View Cemetary
