Golden, aged 42 Mrs.Golden was the daughter of W.T.Patton of near McLeay and was born on the old donation land claim of W.T.Patton,March 1,1851. She married Dr.Golden Feb 18,1869 and has made her home in Salem since. She was the oldest of nine children, most of whom are still on the old home place and one, T.B.Patton,is cashier of the Astoria Savings bank. She leaves three children; Mrs.Lee Steiner,Thomas and Anna. Mrs.Golden has been a constant church worker and was connected with the Unitarian church. Her death is a terrible blow to all those who knew her, coming as it did with so little warning. Although 42 years old she looked much younger, and her bright smile and sunny face will live in the memory of those who have known her as long as they are numbered with the living. A good wife, a loving mother, and a trusting friend. Ever awaiting an opportunity to do a noble act,she leaves behind her a memory that can never fae. Torn from those who loved her, in the very prime of her life, she leaves a void that can never be failed. Nor do those who are so near her alone bemoan her loss, for the social circle of which she was so charming a member and that knew her worth so well, bows its head in grief.
