December 25 Mrs. Samuel Antoine Goulet, died here this morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ellen Manning. Mrs. Goulet was in her 92nd year, and her death marks the passing of one of the oldest pioneers of French Prairie. She crossed the plains to Oregon from Monroe, Mich., in 1859. Her husband, who came to Oregon in 1852 and returned to Michigan seven years later to bring his family West, died here five years ago in his 90th year. Mrs. Goulet was Miss Marcelice Du Valle and was married at Monroe, Mich., July 4, 1842. She is survived by the following named children: Peter P. Goulet, of Salem; William Henry Goulet, of Woodburn, County Commissioner of Marion county; Fred Goulet, of Portland; Mrs. Ellen Manning of Gervais and Mrs. Minnie Murphy, of Portland. The funeral will be held Wednesday morning from the Catholic Church here and interment will be made in the family plot in the Gervais Cemetery.
