Rebecca A.Hunt Is Laid To rest
Pioneer Resident Of West Salem Buried In Lee Cemetary
West Salem,Nov 3-The funeral services of Mrs.Rebecca A.Hunt ,a pioneer in West 
Salem was conducted at the Ford memorial church Driday afternnoon,with 
Rev.F.L.Cannel,a former pastor and Rev.M.A.Groves,present pastor officiating.
Rebecca A.Harper was born  Oct.10,1849,at Welland,Ontario,Canada, and died at 
her home at 1161 Second street,West Salem,aged 81 years and 18 days.She had 
been married three times.Her second marriage was to Hira Alonzo Skinner in 
Ontario 45 vyears ago.Both the first and the second husband died many years 
ago and in 1893 she was united in marriage to J.E.Hunt who survives her. She 
had spent the last 28 years of her life in West Salem and was a charter member 
of the Methodist Church here in which she has held many positiions of trust 
and responsibility.She taught in the Sunday school here for many years until 
failing health obliged her to give up her work.Many of the present active 
workers in the church and Sunday school were members of Mrs.Hunts class in 
childhood.Her passing was sudden and unexpected,she having been in her 
accustomed place at the church last Sunday.
She leaves one son,William Squier of Mohler,Tillamook county, and one 
daughter,Mrs.Edward Becken of Independence,14 grabdchildren and seven great 
grandchildren.Internment was made in Lee Mission Cemetary.
