Caroline jewett Rites Are held
Hubbard,November 3- Funeral services were held for Caroline Jewett at the 
federated church Saturday afternoon,with rev.Leslie Field,pastor of the 
Methodist Church at Sellwood,officiating.
the Zion Mennonite choir sang several selections.Miss Anita bevins was the 
pianist.Pall bearers were Willis Brown,John Blosser,David Hovenden,George 
Dimmick,C.H.Albright,George leffler.
Caroline Jewett was born in Virginia September 23,1836.Since coming west she 
had lived at McMinnville and Hubbard prior to going to Portland five years ago.
She is survived by one son,William Jewett of Berkely,Cal.,who was present at 
the funeral services;one sister,Mrs.Norah Butsh of Newport,oregon;11 
grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.her three daughter,Frances,Georgia 
and carrie have passed before.
mrs.Jewett has been a Christian since early girlhood remaining faithful until 
the end.Although an invalid for the last 15 years her mind was clear and alert 
to the last
