The Daily Independent March 23,1893
Jas.Officer, one of the pioneers of Clackamas county, died at his son in law's 
residence near Mulino last week. He was 92 years of age. Mr.Officer crossed 
the plains from Missouri to Oregon in '46 and settled on the Molalla Prairie. 
He was born in Tennessee in 1801 and was married in Clay County,Mo., in 1828. 
He did active service in the Cayuse war in '47-8.
