Oregon Daily Statesman January 5,1870
Died-At his residence,on French Prairie,November 30,1869,Stanley Ruggles,in 
the 58th year of his life.The deceased came to Oregon some time in 1855 with 
his family and settled in Marion county.He was a member of the Congregational 
church of this place,lived a consistent and exemplary Christian,and died 
triumphant in the Faith of Christ.He leaves a family of five children,who 
mourn as not without hope.Funeral services were held by the Rev.O.Dickson
