Tagic Death Of Schaefer Noted By Friends Here
Salem people were grieved yesterday to hear of the death of George Edward 
Schaefer,suicide,at Yakima,Wash.Schaefer once lived in the district of Stayton 
and his brother,William Schaefer,is proprietor of the Maples confectionary 
here.
Edwrad Schaefer,seperated two months agor from his wife and five children,went 
to Yakima to effect a reconciliation.He failed and MOnday night in the yard of 
his father in law,he killed himself with a pistol.His oldest 
son,Harry,19,struggled in vain with his father to prevent the shooting
