Death waas preceded by lengthy illness which had resulted in partial invalidism for the past four years. Mrs.Arthur(Zoe) Vassall was the daughter of the late Eugene Semple,former governor of Washington.Her parents were married in Bogota,Columbia,of which city her maother was a native.Mr.Semple was stationed there at the United States legation there.Mr.Vassall,however,was born inPortland. The Vassals have made their home in Salem for the past ten years.Mrs. Vassall was a prominent member of St.Pauls.
