BINFORD, president of the Metropolitan Printing Company, of Portland, who has won very gratifying success, was born in Crawfordsville, Indiana, in 1876, and is a son of Caleb and Emily (Allen) Binford, both of whom died in 1878. Thus deprived of his parents' care when but two years of age, he was reared by his sister Julia, who became the wife of Frank Lee. In 1884 the family moved to Portland, Oregon, where Mr. Lee was connected with the Indian schools. In addition to this space, they also occupy space one hundred by fifty feet and fifty by fifty feet in an adjoining building. They have a complete and up-to- date mechanical equipment, including Intertype machines, a Ludlow machine, an Elrod Press, a rotary press and automatic feeders. They employ from twenty to thirty people and do a general line of commercial printing. P. A. Binford was married to Miss Elizabeth Thomas, who was born and reared in Portland, and whose death occurred in 1911. In 1913 he married Miss Silvia Munkers and they are the parents of a son, Thomas, who is now thirteen years of age.
