Clarke Publishing Company FRANCIS J. FITZPATRICK, secretary and treasurer of the Monarch Forge and Machine Works, of Portland, is rendering a high type of service and is proving a strong factor in the successful operation of this business. He was born in Portland on the 18th day of February, 1905, and is a son of James and Ella Fitzpatrick, who came to this city in 1903. His father, who was a surveyor, is now deceased, and his mother still resides in this city. Francis J. Fitzpatrick received a good education in the public schools, after which he attended the University of Oregon, taking a three-year extension course in business administration. In 1920 he entered a three-year extension course in business administration. In 1920 he entered the employ of the Monarch Forge and Machine Works, with which concern he has remained to the present time, and in 1926 was made secretary and treasurer of the company. He is devoting his attention closely to the interests of the business and those who know him regard him as a capable and dependable business man. In his political views he is a democrat, and he is a member of the Woodmen of the World and the Knights of Columbus. He possesses to a marked degree the personal qualities that make for friendship and wherever known is greatly esteemed.
