Clarke Publishing Company DR. ROBERT BUDD KARKEET, M. D., specialist in diseases of the ear, nose and throat, has been actively identified with professional interests of Portland for the past fifteen years. He was born at Iron Mountain, Michigan, in 1885, a son of John H. and Mary E. (England) Karkeet, the former deceased. The latter still resides in the Wolverine state. Robert B. Karkeet, one of two sons in the family, prepared for a professional career as a student in the University of Michigan, from which institution he was graduated in 1909. Following service as interne in the Shenango Valley Hospital of New Castle, Pennsylvania, he spent one year in postgraduate work in Vienna. It was in 1913 that he located for practice in Portland, Oregon, which city has since remained the scene of his professional labors and where he is now associated with Dr. Connell. His work in the field of bronchoscopy, otology, rhinology and laryngology, in which he specializes, has been attended with marked success. In 1911 Dr. Karkeet was united in marriage to Cora Hardinghaus, of Ann Arbor, Michigan. They are the parents of two children, Robert H. and Evelyn E., aged fourteen and fifteen years, respectively. Dr. Karkeet belongs to the University Club and the Lake Oswego Country Club and along strictly professional lines has membership in the American Medical Association, Oregon State Medical Society, Portland City and County Medical Society, American Academy of Otolaryngology, Pacific Coast Oto-ophthalmological Society and the Oregon Academy of Oto-Laryngology.
