     GEORGE TIMOTHY O'SULLIVAN.  Though a comparatively recent addition to the 
ranks of the medical fraternity in Portland, Dr. George T. O'Sullivan has 
given unmistakable evidence of his learning, skill and efficiency as a 
physician and is building up a splendid practice. He was born in Redwood City, 
California, on the 4th day of July, 1891, and is a son of Timothy and Mary 
Dolores (Martinez) O'Sullivan. The former died in 1906 and the latter in 1918. 
His father was a member of the San Francisco fire department and while in the 
performance of duty during the great earthquake and fire of April, 1906, met 
with injuries, from the effects of which he died. The mother was a member of 
the noted old Spanish family of Martinez, which held large tracts of land in 
San Mateo county, California, under one of the old Spanish grants.

     Dr. O'Sullivan received his preliminary education in St. Patricks 
Seminary in San Francisco, after which he matriculated in the College of 
Physicians and Surgeons there and was graduated with the degree of Doctor of 
Medicine in 1918. He served his interneship in the U. S. Letterman Hospital in 
San Francisco, and also took a postgraduate course in that city. He attended 
Fordham University, New York city, from which he received the degree of Doctor 
of Philosophy, and later did postgraduate medical work in the Northwest 
College of Physical Therapy. He then became connected with the United States 
public health and veterans' bureau, with which he was identified for ten 
years, and in 1926 went to Bellingham, Washington, where he engaged in the 
practice of his profession for one year. In 1927 he came to Portland and 
opened an office in the Woodlark building and is gaining a flattering 
reputation as a capable and reliable physician.

     Dr. O'Sullivan was united in marriage to Miss Ulrica Sahlberg, who was 
born and educated in Redwood City, California and also graduated from the 
Teachers' College in San Francisco. To them have been born three children, 
namely: Donald George, eleven years old, Anne Ulrica, eight years old, and 
Eugene Ed, aged four years.

     Dr. O'Sullivan is a member of the American Legion and the American 
Radiological Society. He is a veteran of the World war, in which he was 
commissioned a first lieutenant and served as adjutant at Fort Sam Houston, 
Texas, until the close of the war, when he was honorably discharged. In his 
profession he has observed the highest medical ethics, has exemplified a 
splendid type of citizenship in his private life and possesses to a marked 
degree those qualities which characterize the true gentleman, so that 
throughout the circle of his acquaintance he commands confidence and respect.
