Clarke Publishing Company THEODORE SCHOMMER, assistant manager of the Albers Brothers Milling Company, of Portland, is a man of great energy and ripe judgment and commands the respect of all who have been associated with him. Born in Winona, Minnesota, on the 16th of April, 1883, he is a son of John and Anna (Decker) Schommer, the former now deceased and the latter still living in Minnesota. Theodore Schommer obtained a good public school education and he received his initial business experience as a clerk in a grocery store. In 1908 he came to Portland and secured employment with the Albers Brothers Milling Company, with which concern he has been connected to the present time. His first work was in handling trucks, while later he was promoted through various positions, and for fourteen years served as a traveling salesman. For several years he has held the position of assistant manager, for the duties of which his previous experience had well qualified him, and he is now one of the most valuable men in the company's employ. On October 18, 1905, Mr. Schommer was united in marriage to Miss Hazel Boynton, of Winona, Minnesota, and they are the parents of three children, Delphine, Irene and Patrick. Mr. Schommer is a member of the Portland Rotary Club, the Progressive Business Men's Club, the Chamber of Commerce, in which he has done effective committee work, and the Oregon Manufacturers Association, of which he is first vice president. A man of excellent personal qualities, cordial and friendly in his social relations and consistent in his life and conduct, he has proven worthy of the esteem in which he is held by all who know him.
