He is building up a large practice in medicine and surgery and is regarded as one of this city's able and dependable physicians. Dr. Staub was born in Portland in 1895 and is a son of Rev. John J. and Mitta (Wands) Staub. His father was born in Zurich, Switzerland, and there obtained a good education, graduating from the University of Lucerne, in which he majored in languages. He has been a resident of Portland for forty-five years and during the past thirty-six years has served as pastor of the Sunnyside Congregational church, probably the longest continuous pastorate west of the Mississippi river. His wife was born, reared and educated in Oakland, California, and her marriage to Rev. Staub occurred there. Dr. Staub's brother, Howard P. Staub, is a graduate of the medical school of the University of Oregon, served his interneship in the Multnomah County hospital and is now attending the Henry Ford Hospital, after which he will be associated with his brother in the practice in Portland. Raymond R. Staub received his elementary education in the public and high schools of Portland, after which he matriculated in the medical school of the University of Oregon and was graduated with the degree of Doctor of Medicine in 1920. He attended the Mayo Clinic, at Rochester, Minnesota, during the summers of 1920 and 1921, doing postgraduate work. In 1920 he entered upon the practice of his profession in Portland, having nicely furnished and well equipped offices in the Selling building, and conducts a general practice in medicine and surgery. He is president of the medical staff of the Portland Sanitarium and is a member of the Portland Academy of Medicine and the Multnomah County Medical Society. Dr. Staub was united in marriage to Miss Josie Pearl Rosbraugh, who was born in Toronto, Canada, and completed her education in the University of British Columbia. Dr. and Mrs. Staub have two children, Maurine, now four and a half years old, and Raymond, Jr., one and a half years. Dr. Staub is a Mason and an Elk. He possesses a splendid personality, easily makes friends and is held in high regard by all who know him.
