J. Clarke Publishing Company DR. HAROLD G. TROMMALD, whose offices are in the Journal building, in Portland, has given proof of his mastery of the dental profession, in the practice of which he has been more than ordinarily successful. Born in Norway in 1891, he is a son of Olaf and Christie (Wold) Trommald, who also were born in that country. The mother is deceased. His father was for many years engaged in a general mercantile business and is still living in his native country. There were in the family three sons and five daughters, of whom two sisters are living in Canada, and Harold G. in Oregon, the rest of the children remaining in Norway. Harold G. Trommald was reared in his native land, where he received a good public school education and then spent a year and a half in a lumber office. In 1912, soon after he had attained his majority, he came to the United States and was employed for awhile in the medical office of his uncle, Dr. Trommald, now deceased, there gaining considerable knowledge of anatomy and medicine. He had three uncles in this country who were practicing physicians, but are now deceased. In 1916 he entered the Northern Pacific College of Dentistry in Portland, from which he was graduated with the degree of Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1919, and he has since been engaged in the practice of his profession in this city. Dr. Trommald was married in Portland, in 1925, to Miss Alta Marie Geiger. She is a native of Illinois, is a lady of splendid qualities and is deservedly popular in social circles. The Doctor is a member of the Knights of Pythias and Portland Dental Society, the Oregon State Dental Society and the American Dental Association. During the World war he offered his services and was assigned to the Medical Reserve. He is a man of earnest purpose and marked capability, has made a host of warm and loyal friends and is highly regarded by all who know him.
