Hardy, who since his residence in this city has gone under the name of Peter Stork, is now in the county jail awaiting trial on a charge of burglary. With a man named Hoar he robbed the residence of Rev.Bittner several weeks ago, while that gentleman and his family were attending services at his church. Hoar has been convicted of the crime, but Stork's trial has not yet been called. Warden Smith says that Stork, or Hardy, was convicted of grand larceny and sent to the penitentiary for four years. On the night of October 16,1891, he and three other convicts broke out of their cells, and succeeded in getting away from their prison. Hardy then had 18 months to serve. Smith has identified Stork as Hardy, and it will be permitted to take the man back to Idaho to serve out his sentence.
