Mr. Diamond came from his claim, where Coburg is now located, to help raise the first mill on the Calapooia river in Linn County, in th eyear of 1848. Those were the times when he went to Albany, a distance of 32 miles, to mail a letter.If you people who think your lot is a hard one now would just compare it with some of the old pioneer life, we think you would blush at the result.
