The Oregon Daily Journal Sun Aug 31, 1919 Pg 39 August 31, 1919

   Mrs. Percy Hastings entertained with a 
luncheon on Wednesday at her home in Rose
City Par. A surprise of the luncheon was 
the announcement of the engagement of Helen
J. Peel and Dr. L. Hoyt Brown. Miss Peel is
a former Boston girl and attended Washington
high school in Portland. Dr. Brown is the
son of Dr. C. B. Brown. He attended Hill
Military academy, later being graduated from
the North Pacific Dental college. He is a
member of the elta Sigma Delta fraternity.
He recently returned from two years service
in the United States navy. The wedding will
be an event of the fall.
