Morning Oregonian August 4, 1904
Thomas Balcom,of Pendleton,was locked up yesterday in the County Jail in 
default of $200 bail,charged with supplying one pint of whiskey to two 
Indians,Spokane Jim and John Doe,living on the Umatilla reservation.
Articles of Incorporation were filed yesterday in the County Court by the 
Laidlaw Townsite Company,with the declaration of engaging in a real estate 
business,to lay off and plat towns,etc. The capital stock is $25,000 shares of 
$1 each.The incorporators are E.E.Lytle,J.D.Wharton,and W.A.Laidlaw.
