James O'Hare,whose wife Mary Ann O'Hare,secured a divorce from him some time ago,and also a decree of attorney's fees,alimony and one third of his real property,yesterday filed amotion in the State Circuit Court to set aside the decree and permit him to make a defense. He says he has been on a visit to the home of his uncle in Orting,Wash., where he was from Ocotber,1903,until April,1904,and afterwards went to Douglas Island,Alaska.he says he did not know of the suit and wants to defend it,and denies his ife's charges of cruel treatment. The O'Hares lived on a farm in Marion County and at the trial of the divorce suit witnesses testified that O'Hare treated his wife so badly while she was sick that the neighbors htreatened to lynch him,W.T.Slater and W.M.Kaiser appear as attorneys for O'Hare. Mary Long has sued C.L.Long for a divorce on account of cruel and inhuman treatment and deprving her of the common necessetities of life. She complains that,while she was sick in a hospital he neglected her and consorted with other women.The plaintiff asks for $20 per month in alimony,and to be allowed to resume her former name ,Wolff.The litigants were married at Vancouver,Wash.,November 12,1903. Papers in a divorce suit filed in Cascade County,Montana by Frances M.Guistin against George Guistin,the well known Portland fushdealer,were served yesterday by Deputy Sheriff Parrott. Deputy Sheriff Grussi yesterday serves a compaint and summons in a divorce suit filed in Alameda County,California by Harry Ellis aganist Bertha Ellis.
