Morning Oregonian September 4, 1904
An interesting engagement just announced is that of Mr.Ellen Graves Thomas,of 
this city,to Captain Charles Plummer Perkins,U.S.N.,a distinguished officer of 
the North Pacific Squadron. Mrs.Thomas is a daughter of the late Judge John 
James Graves,of Baltimore,and a grandaughter of Mrs.L.R.Rubell,of Eugene,Or. 
Captain Perkins and Mrs.Thomas met last year at Astoria. Mrs.Thomas returned a 
few days ago from Seattle,where she and Captain Perkins were elaborately 
entertained.
