Several weeks ago Chris Moeck pleaded gulty,and was sentenced to six years imprisonment.Gary stood trial,which came off yesterday,and Chris was brought from the penitentiary to testify. He said Gary was innocent,and endeavored to save him,but it was no use; the evidence otherwise was too strong and the jury returned a verdict of guilty. Miss Hattie Pickles,a pretty miss of 16,who kept company with Gary Moeck fro several months,was present in the court,and tried to assist him.She testified that she believed in his innocence,and said he was at her home on the afternoon the crime was committed,and could not have been at the Wessinger residence.Mrs.Pickles also testified in favor of the young man. For the prosecution evidence was submitted showing that Gary Moeck was seen in the pawnshop selling a pair of opera glasses which was a part part of the stolen plunder.He explained when arrested that Chris gave it to him,and that Thomas Edwards was a partner of Chris in the burglary.Detectives Kerrigan and Snow testified that Gary Moeck and his brother confessed seversl times.Other witnesses said they both confessed. i the jury had brought in a verdeict of guilty,Gary asked Judge Sears to pronounce sentence at once,and admitted having previously served two years in the Walla Walla penitentiary.He told Judge Sears if he would be lenient,he would be good when he got out.He was given he same dose as his brother,72 months.The Moeck boys said their home is in Tacoma.
